Berkshire-headquartered Baylis Recycling, which has depots nationwide has been awarded an Environment Agency accreditation for plastic reprocessing, the company announced today. The accreditation follows Baylis' installation of a new plastics recycling facility valued at £3 million, and featuring washing and flaking plant and compound lines with a reprocessing capacity of up to 15,000 tonnes per annum, or two tonnes per hour. As part of the same investment strategy Baylis has also installed a secure paper shredding Vecoplan machine capable of processing up to five tonnes per hour, and a paper, plastic and cardboard baling facility with a capacity of eight tonnes per hour. Other investments include a new calibrated weighbridge facility. "Our new plant supports our objective to provide a one-stop quality service to the private and public sectors" said managing director Chris Baylis. "New legislative demands from both Westminster and Brussels are moving recycling rapidly up the management agenda, and our industry must respond with more effective solutions".
