Baylis Recycling is the UK's fastest growing plastics reprocessor. The company has sorting facilities in Northampton and Keynsham, near Bristol, and is planning others across the UK. In April, 2008 the company installed a 2000kg/hour washing line at Keynsham, where it also has the ability to regrind post-production materials, such as Polypropelyne. Baylis Recycling are particularly proud of their capability to source, sort and wash HDPE and PET, and will, later in 2008, have the ability to wash PET to a food-grade standard within the UK. Baylis Recycling also have agreements within the UK to compact expanded polymers. Founded in 1996, Baylis initially focussed on the collection of holiday brochures for reprocessing, subsequently expanding its waste services to include secure waste shredding, recycling of all card and paper, and the collection or receipt of source-segregated waste from local authorities and businesses. Since 2003, Baylis have been sorting source-segregated waste for processing within the UK, and have recently upgraded its washing facility to wash and flake HDPE and PET at a rate of 2 tonnes per hourfor re-use within the UK into household products and food-grade standards respectively. Baylis Recycling plan to expand its operation to cover the whole of the UK and to meet the demand for its end product. |
